Logging In
When you run ClearView you will see a splash screen as the program checks for updates and establishes a connection with the server. After a connection has been made to the server, it will require that you log in. Enter your username and password and select "OK" to log in.

System Tray Icon
When ClearView runs it will notice two ClearView icons, one on the taskbar (left) and one in the system tray (right):

The ClearView item on your taskbar will control simple Windows functions like minimizing and maximizing the application, and the system tray icon will control ClearView specific functions like managing your connection to the server and the windows you have open.
Exiting
There are two ways to exit from ClearView.
Option 1: right-click the taskbar icon and select "Close"

Option 2: right-click the system tray icon and select "Exit"

Maximizing, Minimizing, Focus
The standard operations minimize, maximize, and focus are handled using the taskbar icon. If ClearView is not the active application, left-clicking the taskbar will maximize ClearView and set it to be the active application. If ClearView is the active application, left-clicking the taskbar will shrink ClearView. Also, you may access the "Maximize" and "Minimize" options by right-clicking the taskbar.

"Minimize" will be disabled if the application is currently minimized, same with maximize (as shown above). The "Move" option does not do anything.
Simulated
ClearView provides a simulated mode for users who wish to experimenting with ClearView outside market hours. Right-click the taskbar icon and check "Simulated" to receive data from the simulated servers.

Layouts
ClearView provides the ability to save and load different collections of windows, or "layouts". The standard ClearView database contains layouts designed for different screen resolutions as shown below:

You may decide that you want different layouts based on what type of stocks you are trading on a certain day, or based on what time of day you are trading them. You could design "pre-market", "morning", and "afternoon" layouts if that would benefit you.
Switching Layouts
To switch your current layout, right-click the ClearView system tray icon, select "Layouts", and click on your desired layout
Default Layout
The Default layout is the layout that is loaded when ClearView starts. The current default layout is shown bold in the Layouts menu (1024x768 is the default layout above). To set a layout as default, switch to the layout you want to be the default, select "Set as Default" from the Layouts menu.
Creating Layouts
The easiest way to create a layout is to save a copy of your current layout. Right-click the ClearView system tray icon, click "Layouts", and select "Save As". A dialog will pop up and allow you to enter the name for your new layout.

After clicking "OK", your new layout will be saved and opened. You are now working with your new layout.
Saving Layouts
Layouts are automatically saved when you exit ClearView. You may also select "Save" from the Layouts menu to manually save the current layout.
Renaming Layouts
If you wish to rename your current layout, select "Rename" from the Layouts menu. A dialog will pop up and allow you to rename your current layout.

Deleting Layouts
If you wish to delete your current layout, select "Delete" from the Layouts menu. The following dialog will pop up:

Click "Yes" to permanently delete the current layout.
