Realtime News Interface

Control Layout
There are four tabs within the Realtime News window, Hot News, All News, Query, and Story.
The Hot News, All News, and Query contain collections of stories displayed in a grid. The most recent stories are at the top and clicking on a row will bring up the news article in the "Story" tab. The columns in these grids are as follows:
- Date – the date on which the story was posted
- Time – the time at which the story was posted
- Src – the newswire from which the story was received, abbreviations are as follows:
- IW - Internet Wire
- BW - Business Wire
- PN - PR Newswire
- PZ - Prime Zone
- FO - Fly on the Wall
- MN - Midnight Trader
- JN - Jag Notes
- DJ - Dow Jones
- TK - 10k Wizard
- Symbol – the stock symbol to which the story applies (if any)
- Headline – the headline of the story
Hot News
The "Hot News" tab contains news items that match your Hot News alert criteria. Rows in the hot news grid are colored using the user-defined alert colors. For more information on creating Hot News alerts, see the Hot News page.

All News
Any story received while the Realtime News window is open will be placed in the "All News" tab.

Query
The "Query" tab is used to perform a quick search of all news for the given stock symbol or search phrase. Yellow rows represent stories from the current day, orange rows represent stories from the previous day, and all other stories are displayed in white.

Story
The "Story" tab displays the full news story after a headline has been selected from the Hot News, All News, or Query tab. If the story was pulled as a result of a search (Hot News or Query tabs), the text that matches the search criteria will be highlighted in red.

User Interaction
Executing a Query
Any time the symbol gets set for the Realtime News window (via a cascade) a query will be performed on that symbol.
Additionally, you may manually enter a query yourself. First, select the query tab.
In the "Query" textbox, enter either a stock symbol or search phrase. A search phrase must be encapsulated by double quotes, while a stock symbol doesn't need to be (e.g. "Google" vs. GOOG).
The "Days old" textbox defines the number of days back you want the query to go, and the "Max return" textbox defines the maximum number of results that will be returned. Queries return recent news first, so if you specify 10 as your "Max return" you will receive the most recent 10 stories that contain your query criteria.
Once you have entered your query criteria, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to submit.

Managing Columns
By default, not all the columns are shown on all the headline grids.. If you right-click on the column headers you will be preseneted with the following menu:

The menu item at the top, "Hide", will hide the column that you right-clicked to receive this menu. All the other menu items are columns that are currently not being displayed on the grid. Clicking one of these items will add the column and corresponding information to the grid (the column won't be added at the end of the grid, but rather it will be added in its default position).
