Market Scan Interface

Control Layout

The Market Scan is similar to the other ClearView grids in that it displays one stock per row and each colum contains useful information about that stock.

The selected column is highlighted in red (A.1m is selected below) and the data in the chart is sorted according to that column.

The columns represent the following information: By default, not all of these columns are initially visible. See below for information on how to unhide or hide columns.

Much of the data is color coded. For numerical data, green highlights positive numbers and red highlights negative numbers. For the 30 minute chart, green highlights stocks that are near or at their high while red highlights stocks that are near or at their low. And for the 90 second trend, green indicates a period of more accumulation and red indicates a period of more distribution.

User Interaction

Managing Columns

You may select a column by which to sort the data by clicking on the appropriate column header. The column header text will turn red and the data will be sorted in descending order by default, but clicking the column header will toggle it to ascending order.

By default, not all columns are initially shown. To select more columns for your Market Scan, right-click on a column header as shown below:

The first option is "Hide" which will hide the column you clicked to bring up the popup menu.

Following "Hide" is a list of all columns not currently displayed. Clicking on one of these menu items will add that column and its corresponding data to the grid.

Column Data

Some columns allow you to specify the type of data they contain. The columns 15m and 7d have arrows next to them in the column header that you may click on to bring up a popup menu from which you can choose the interval for the data they represent.

With the 7d column, you may also specify if the data is the actual change or a percentage change

Pausing the Sorting

The Market Scan automatically sorts on the active column every 5 seconds. If you wish to look at a specific stock this might be a problem as it has potential to jump around each time the grid sorts. To prevent the grid from sorting, use Control-T to toggle the auto-sorting on and off. The automatic sorting will re-enable itself once it has been off for a certain amount of time (5 minutes by default, changable in the settings dialog).
