Grid Query Settings

The Grid Query requires that you define the query parameters before any data will be displayed in the grid. These parameters are located in the "Settings" for the Grid Query window.

All queries are performed by comparing the current values for a stock with the values from a certain number of days ago. The user enters the time interval over which they want the comparison to be made, and then selects the actual parameters of the scan. The checkbox next to the criteria determine whether they are active. Clicking "Close" will execute the query.
The "Price between ..." setting allows you to limit the price range of stocks you want returned in the query.
The "Change Threshold" setting allows you to specify that you only want stocks returned that have had a certain amount of change. You may use the radio button to select whether you want the change to be in terms of a percent of the stock's initial (the first comparison day) value or whether you want the change to be in terms of absolute dollars.
The "Activity Threshold" setting allows you to specify that you only want stocks returned that have had a certain amount of activity. You may use the radio button to select whether you want the change to be in terms of total volume of shares trades or whether you want the change to be in terms of the number of trades made.
With these definitions, we can see that the settings in the picture above will cause the Grid Query to scan for stocks of any price that have gone up or down by at least 10% in the last 7 days, and that have had at least 500 trades in the last trading session.
